My Story – Gino Comissi
Coming from a South American background, I first arrived in Australia in 1993.
I’ve always had a fascination for buildings. After trying out a few different jobs in the past, I never felt that it was for me until I was given an opportunity to work in the construction industry. Ever since then, I never looked back.
Like almost every origin story, I started off as a labourer in a formwork company in 1998. Everyday I would be observing and learning from the other experienced staff. By 2006, I became a supervisor within the formwork company.
Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to be involved in many different projects, big and small. Although I now have over 20 years of experience working with various types of structural formwork (such as Dincel, AFS, ZEGO etc.), I am always learning on each project.
I am a team player, a detail-oriented person, and an active problem solver. I am someone that is resilient and never afraid of hard work and getting my hands dirty.
I believe that it is these traits that helped to get me to where I am right now.
My goal on every project is to exceed client expectations. The key ingredients in achieving this being:
- Proper planning
- Good organisational skills
- Having an eye for detail
Outside of work, I have a family with 3 kids, and I enjoy spending my weekends and holiday breaks with them. I am someone that strongly believes in achieving balance in life as it can affect your state of mind.
